AmenitiesPrivate, one bedroom cottage for Bed and English Breakfast, or as a Guest House for self-catering. Some additional accommodation in the main house can be provided for cottage visitors only. Available for short or long periods. The self-contained cottage, all at ground level, has a fully-equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower, washer and drier, and video/ television. French doors open into a small private fenced and gated garden, therefore a traveling pet is welcome. Trails are open through 10+ acres with woodlands and fields for exercise. But, in addition to the Island's wild life, there are also resident sheep, ducks, chickens, dogs, and a cat, and any visiting pet is required to be on its most sociable behavior, and under control at all times. Madison Avenue Arriving on Bainbridge Island from Seattle by ferry, from the Winslow terminal take the main highway (#305) North with almost everyone else. Past the 4-mile post, turn right at the 6th set of traffic signals onto Day Road East. Drive uphill on Day Road East about 1 mile to the Captain Wilkes Primary School on the right at the junction of Day Road and Madison Avenue. Turn left onto Madison Avenue, and continue about 0.5 miles to the bottom of the hill, where there are open fields on the left. Behind the long stretch of white fencing there is a white house set back about 100 yards from the road, and Saxon Cottage is in its grounds.Arriving on Bainbridge Island by crossing the Agate Pass Bridge on #305, continue about 2 miles. At the first traffic signals, turn left onto Day Road East. Drive uphill on Day Roast East and then follow the directions as described above.
